8 Days Wonders of Assam & Arunachal Pradesh (Tawang Express)
Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati – River Cruise & Evening Market
Arrive at Guwahati Airport (GAU) or Railway Station, where our representative will warmly welcome you.
Transfer to your hotel, check in, and refresh yourself after the journey.
In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful ferry ride across the Brahmaputra River to visit Umananda Temple, located on Peacock Island—the smallest inhabited river island in the world. Look out for the rare Golden Langurs here!
Towards the evening, enjoy a magical Sunset Cruise on the Brahmaputra River, taking in stunning riverside views.

Day 2: Guwahati – Rhinoceros Safari at Pobitora – Drive to Bhalukpong
Start your morning early with a short drive to Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, which boasts the highest density of the Indian One-horned Rhinoceros in the world.
Embark on an exciting Jeep Safari through the grasslands to spot rhinos, wild buffalos, and exotic birds.
Return, check out from your hotel, and begin your drive toward the misty hills of Arunachal Pradesh, arriving at the border town of Bhalukpong (approx. 5 hours).
Complete entry formalities at the Bhalukpong Inner Line Permit (ILP) check post and check into your riverside eco-resort.

Day 3: Bhalukpong – Orchid Research Centre – Drive to Dirang Valley
After breakfast, visit the famous Tipi Orchid Research Centre, home to hundreds of rare, exotic, and colorful orchid species.
Begin your ascent into the mountains toward Dirang Valley (approx. 4-5 hours), a beautiful Monpa tribal valley situated at 4,900 feet.
En route, witness the cascading beauty of the Nag Mandir Waterfalls and stop for panoramic mountain photographs.
Arrive in Dirang, check into your hotel, and visit the historic 17th-century Dirang Dzong fortress village.

Day 4: Dirang – Cross Sela Pass & Jaswant Garh – Arrive in Tawang
Enjoy an early breakfast, check out, and drive toward Tawang (approx. 6 hours), ascending deep into the high Himalayas.
Cross the breathtaking Sela Pass at an altitude of 13,700 feet. Stop to admire the gorgeous alpine Sela Lake, surrounded by heavy snow and prayer flags.
Stop at the Jaswant Garh War Memorial to pay tribute to the legendary Indian army rifleman from the 1962 war.
Drive past the roaring Nuranang Falls (Jung Falls) before arriving in the cloud-kissed town of Tawang by evening.

Day 5: Full Day Tawang Monastery & Local Exploration
Start your morning with a visit to the magnificent Tawang Monastery, the largest active monastery in India and the second-largest in the world, housing a giant golden Buddha statue.
Explore the peaceful Urgeling Monastery, famous as the historic birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama.
Visit the moving Tawang War Memorial to watch a beautiful light and sound show highlighting local history and military bravery.
Spend your evening walking around the vibrant local Old Market to shop for traditional Monpa hand-woven rugs, wooden bowls, and warm winter woolens.

Day 6: Tawang – High Altitude Lakes (Bum La Pass & Madhuri Lake)
After breakfast, take a local hired internal vehicle to visit the legendary Bum La Pass at 15,200 feet, which marks the Indo-China border (subject to weather conditions and permit approvals).
On the way back, stop at the mesmerizing, high-altitude Sangetsar Lake, popularly known as Madhuri Lake, surrounded by dramatic dead tree trunks standing right in the water.
Return to Tawang town by late afternoon; evening is free for leisure and trying authentic local Tibetan momos and thukpa.

Day 7: Tawang – Return Drive down to Bomdila Hill Station
Enjoy breakfast with a panoramic view of the snow-clad peaks, then check out from your hotel.
Begin your descent back down the winding mountain roads towards the scenic hill station of Bomdila (approx. 6-7 hours journey).
Upon reaching Bomdila (8,000 ft), check into your hotel and visit the beautiful, serene Bomdila Monastery (GRL Monastery).
Take a peaceful evening stroll through the local town viewpoint to see a beautiful sunset over the surrounding valleys.

Day 8: Bomdila – Kamakhya Temple Darshan – Guwahati Departure
Wake up early for breakfast, check out, and begin the long return drive down the hills back to the plains of Assam (approx. 7–8 hours).
Proceed straight to Nilachal Hill in Guwahati to visit the powerful and highly revered hilltop Kamakhya Temple to seek blessings.
Transfer directly to Guwahati Airport (GAU) or the Railway Station for your evening onward departure journey, carrying wonderful memories of the hills and plains.
